In case you made your choice and decided to have wood floors - be prepared to purchase specific tools. Ear protectors to block out the pounding, goggles to blind the flying objects, flour sander and a belt sander (these two can be rented), also a mask to protect your face, sanding block and sandpaper, paintbrush about three inches, cross peen hammer – all these items are better to be found BEFORE you start doing the job. You will also need a plane, abrasive paper, shave hook, and nails to improve your home with hardwood.

Make sure the flooring is level and sturdy, before applying hardwood to the sub-floor. Any objects sticking should be either removen or pounded into the floor. Also remove the nails if possible.

Fill gapping area with fillers or slivers. In case you need to stick an area of the floor – adhesive will help.

With the plane – level the flooring area for improvement. Have staining solutions at hand if you decide to add color to areas to match the wood.

Make sure to have cleared up the area from all pollutions and dust BEFORE improving the home.

For hardwood flooring you need – sanding, pounding, sealing, typing. This is noisy and takes time, but not difficult.

Tiles are the easy way. Together with water-base adhesive it is easy to improve the home and find a desirable appeal. By the way, when tiling floors you can mix match and get an outstanding effect.
