BEST STEAM CLEANERS
Steam cleaners are used for many household-cleaning tasks particularly to remove dust, dirt and other foreign particles lodged deep in your carpet fibers and floor cracks. Likewise, it sanitizes and disinfects without the use of harsh chemical solutions. For some, it may resemble an ordinary vacuum cleaner, since it looks and basically operates in the same manner, but there are specific points that differentiate steam cleaners from vacuum cleaners.
A steam cleaner cleans and disinfects using water and heat (by producing hot steam over 200°F) to eliminate dust mites, molds, fungi and other harmful airborne spores that could be inhaled by your family.
Vacuum cleaner work through a nozzle that sucks up the dirt and deposits it into a dust bag. A steam cleaner on the other hand, operates by loosening the dirt from the surface with a hot hose tip, which is then absorbed by a cloth tied to the machine.
Now that both tools have been properly distinguished, your main concern is how to properly choose a steam cleaner that will suit your needs. Stylish flair, over-all functionality, quality and product efficiency should be your criteria in choosing the best steam cleaners for the job.

STEAM CLEANERS ON INFOMERCIALS
I never new what a steam cleaner was until I saw one on an infomercial one night. This type of a cleaner is sort of like a new toy for a big kid because now I was going to be able to clean with steam. What a cool concept and one that the infomercial made very appealing. I mean, I always cleaned my sink and toilets and other things but I never got them “steam” cleaned. Being able to clean them so that they were sanitary enough to eat off of was something that sounded very exciting.
On the TV spot they showed the steam coming out of the nozzle and decimating the dirt, just ripping it off the counters and sinks. It was truly spectacular how easy and fun it looked.
In reality though, the steam was just a little trickle that did very little to do away with the dirt. Even after setting it to the highest setting, it did very little to clean my sink’s surface. I assumed I was doing something wrong but no matter what I did, the cleaner failed to clean. It made me confuse.
Steam can actually help clean things if it is harnessed correctly. It is common in carpet cleaning machines and can be used effectively to sanitize your carpets. But the handheld steam cleaner I got in the mail certainly wasn’t a machine that could clean anything. It serves me right for my weak late night moment of watching infomercials.
